The Greatest Showman: This musical shows off the talents of Hugh Jackman (a great showman) who plays PT Barnam. Interesting story though taken out of order. Enjoyed: 4 star; 2017 Movie 49
All the Money in The World: J.Paul Getty is the point of the tale. The world's first billionaire who incidently hit his first oil well outside my hometown of Haskell. Sad soul and big waste of a man. Excellently done. 4 stars; 2017 Movie 50
The Shape of Water: Saved on of the best till last. One of my favorite movies as a kid was "Creature from the Black Lagoon" and he is back in this movie. At least the creature is identical. This is a great story: a love story between a creature (captured by the government in the early 1960) and a mute cleaning lady who is assigned to clean the lab where he is kept. This is well told with great detail. The 50's way of life is fully on display. Surprised by the nudity but it worked in the tale.
It is 5 star; 2017 Movie 51
For the first time in years, I did not make at least a movie a week (but close). I have many more to see to catch up before the Oscars. It was a great year at the movies
